Mitzvah #

P

1:

Believing in G-d

Without a belief in God there is no belief in ANY consistent, rational, or universal principles and, therefore, any and all other “rules” would be impossible and irrelevant.

P

2:

Unity of G-d

The Unity of God is the basis for that necessary consistency and universality. See “Proof of God” above.

P

3:

Loving G-d

Without a positive affirmation towards God and life, you do not have a positive affirmation towards self and that leads to self-destruction and/or missing the opportunities of life/God’s blessings.

P

4:

Fearing G-d

Some of life’s rules (e.g., life versus death) are absolute.  Without a “healthy” level of fear and respect for those “rules” we tend to take those drastic options, and any other “rules,” for granted.

P

5:

Worshiping G-d

Worshiping God provides a ritualized structure for personal humility and personal assessment when done by ones’self.  When done as a group it gives you a sense of community and binding.

P

6:

Cleaving to G-d

To be fully realized the relationship to God must be emotional rather than rational.

P

7:

Taking an oath by G-d's Name

As a statement of Absolute Truth (as a person might know it) an oath taken in God’s name is a reflection of god’s Absolute Truth.

P

8:

Walking in G-d's ways

Godly actions are as important as words and thoughts.
