In the valley of the
blind, the one-eyed man is king.
Management Being in Management means that you are
“managed by everybody above you AND everybody below you.” Leadership – Motivation versus Control Sun Tzu thought
that Leadership was Controlling (forcing) people to
do what you want which is how he got 98 of the 100 Chinese courtesans to
march in formation after beheading two of them. Eisenhower realized
that Leadership is Motivating people to do the things that
need to be done because they want to. His Leadership is part of
the self-evident (and sacred) reason for the success of our Country. I choose Motivation* *Footnote: The best “example” of bad management ever given to me was
from a Drill Sergeant at Army Reserve OCS at Fort Benning in
1971 who explained that more 2nd Lieutenants were getting
killed in Vietnam from “fragging” than were being killed by the
North Vietnamese. (Fragging: verb - the killing or maiming of
your own combat leader to prevent a dangerous or undesired mission; derived
from the use of a fragmentation grenade |
